BMW to display 5-Series Gran Turismo at the 2010 AutoExpo


While the worldwide economic slowdown has brought trouble for many carmakers, German car maker, BMW India presence continues to reel off new models to meet the ever increasing appetite for expnesive and luxury cars.
The German company's Indian arm has lined up multiple rollouts for the next few months, and is gearing up to showcase its current Indian line-up alongside its international products that could find way onto our roads.
The showstopper will definitely be the BMW 5 Series Gran Turismo is an upcoming car and was first displayed by BMW in 2009 at the Geneva Motor Show as a concept car.[ It is the first production-destined rendition for BMW's Progressive Activity Sedan (PAS) series of cars, its development code was F07. The 5 GT serves as a combination of a sport sedan, an SUV, and a Gran Turismo.

According to Autocarindia, “Apart from the currently running BMW models, the Indians will have the first look of the 400 bhp, twin-turbo direct-injected 4.4-liter V8 550i Gran Turismo. The new compact SUV BMW X1 will also make an appearance along with the new 760Li with 535bhp twin-turbo, 6.0-liter, V12 engine. Besides all this, the new BMW X6 M with the 4.4-liter, 555 bhp V8 engine will also be among the exhibits.

As far as the current model line-up is concerned, the most attention-grabbing one is believed to be the two-door, 3.0-litre twin turbo, BMW Z4 Roadster, launched in November this year. Besides that, other models (already sold in India) which are expected to find its way at the BME pavilion includes the soft-roader X5 that is fitted with 4.8 litre, 350bhp V8 petrol and the 3.0-litre diesel. The 3-series will bring along with it the made-in-India 154 bhp 320i, 211bhp 325i and the already popular 320d. The 5-series bay will have on display the 525i, 530i, 520d, 530d and the M5, reported autocarindia.
