The Nissan Evalia Special Variant is positioned above the range topping XV  and is available across all Nissan dealerships in the country.

Nissan to Increase Prices of Micra and Sunny

Nissan India is all set to increase the prices of its bestselling models- the Micra and Sunny, effective from January 20, 2012. Based on the model, the hikes can go up to 2.09% and while the variants of the Micra Diesel have risen by Rs 3000, the diesel variants will be an additional Rs 20,000. The Sunny will also witness a price hike with the petrol variants becoming costlier by Rs 5000 but the diesel variants remain unchanged.



Commenting on the price hike Managing Director of Nissan Motor India, Kiminobu Tokuyama, said, “The rising input costs and depreciating rupee have left us with no option but to revisit the prices of our models in order to maintain our business momentum. We have kept in mind the customer interest and attempted a very marginal hike. We are sure that our valued customers will appreciate our efforts to give them the global quality products at affordable prices.”

Despite the change in prices the diesel variant of Sunny will remain unaffected owing to the strong demand. Sunny is a very stylish, roomy sedan that racks up the highest sales figures in Nissan India’s model line-up. Since its launch in September 2011, until December, the brand has sold 3,663 units. Nissan is expecting the diesel Sunny to sell in considerable numbers and hence has deferred a price hike.

In the recent past, there have been reports of price hikes in the auto industry. Maruti Suzuki and General Motors will also announce a hike in prices which affirms that the other auto manufacturers will soon follow suit. Auto price hikes is definitely on the cards and how it will affect the consumer, time will tell.

Nissan Micra in India: Small Car by Nissan Coming Soon


Nissan Micra all set to launch in India soon. Few days back Nissan has unleashed its modern car Nissan Micra at the Geneva Motor show 2010. Nissan Micra will be built in 4 different contries like Thailand, India, Brazil, Mexico, may be in China as well. In India Nissam Micra will be built in Chennai Plant.

Nissan Micra will find a good competition with few of the small cars from auto majors in India like Maruti Alto, Maruti Wagon R, Hyundai Santro, Newly launched Ford Figo & Chevy Beat. Car will be available around May 2010 for Indian customers. Nissan aims to price the Nissan Micra model from Rs. 3.8 lakh to Rs. 5 lakh.
Nissan Micra in IndiaNissan Micra is ultra modern car built on V platform. It boasts of a 5 speed manual transmission or CVT and has highly fuel efficient engines. Nissan Micra is powered by an 80 HP 1.2 liter engine. Another option offers is a supercharged 1.2 direct-injection 3 cylinder engine that is capable of producing 98 HP. Unique parking sensor is also attached to the Nissan Micra which is a welcome feature that helps the user park the car on tight roads and is ideal for Indian roads.

Nissan Micra small car will come with both petrol & diesel options for Indian customers. Petrol option has 1200 and 1300CC variants and the diesel option has 1600 CC variant. Nissan Micra will be available in colors like Roma Red, New York Blue, Madrid Ebony, Paris Blue, Monaco Platinum, Vienna Garnet, Geneva White, Tokyo Silver, Rio Latte and London Rose.

Nissan Motors Start Micra's Pre-Launch Booking in India


Nissan Motors will introduce its small car in India in first week of July 2010. The company has already started pre-launch marketing for the car to generate awareness amongst prospective Indian customers. Nissan has set up special pavilions at places with high footfalls like shopping malls and multiplexes. These pavilions showcase attractive LCD screens and kiosks displaying the car and its advertisements.

Through the interactive kiosks, each customer gets an overview on the Nissan heritage, its products and an opportunity to choose a model of their choice. This soft marketing is targeted to generate interest and also get a feedback from the customers about their expectations from the upcoming new car.

"As we gear up for start of sales in July 2010, we are constantly looking at innovative platforms to reach out to our target and prospective customers," said Kiminobu Tokuyama, the company managing director. The pre-launch marketing activity has begun in Bangalore and Pune. Beginning this month, this two-day activity will be held every Saturday and Sunday at a prominent mall in the city and will move to different location in a different city the following week-end. The whole exposure marketing’ activity will continue till December 2010 pan India.

Nissan Micra: Small Car Nissan Micra To Be Launch in India in July


Japanese car major Nissan today said it will launch its much-anticipated small car Nissan Micra in India in July.

"The new Nissan Micra will be launched nationwide on July 14, 2010," the company said in a statement. The company's wholly-owned subsidiary, Nissan Motor India, will roll out the new Micra from its recently inaugurated facility at Oragadam near Chennai.
The industry sources put the likely price of the base version of the hatchback below Rs 4 lakh. The company has earlier said that it will pit the new Micra, which comes with a 1.2 litre petrol engine, against Maruti's Swift, Hyundai's i10 and i20. These cars are priced between Rs 3.44 lakh and Rs 6.95 lakh.

Nissan Motor India, which recently roped in Bollywood actor Ranbir Kapoor as brand ambassador, had started bookings of the car in end of May and has so far received 1,049 orders.
"We are delighted with this encouraging initial response. With the launch of the new Nissan Micra next month, Nissan will begin an exciting journey in India aiming to provide Indian customers with a full range of products and services," Nissan Motor India Managing Director and CEO Kiminobu Tokuyama said.
The company has announced to produce 80,000 units of the new Micra, for both domestic and export markets, in its first year. Nissan will export Micra to over 100 countries, including Europe, Middle-East and Africa, by later half of 2010.
The new Micra will be produced in five countries including Thailand, India, China and Mexico. The fifth location is yet to be decided.
The Japanese carmaker had earlier said that it was targeting to sell 1,00,000 vehicles in India by 2013, for which it will launch nine models in the next two years, including the sedan version of Micra.

Nissan Motor India Private Ltd (NMIPL) today announced that the pre-order bookings of the soon to be launched Nissan Micra has crossed 1000 in just four weeks since the bookings began at the company showrooms from last week of May 2010.

Nissan Micra has so far clocked 1049 pre-order bookings until closing hours of June 21, 2010. In the cities, Delhi leads the race closely followed by Bangalore, Ahmedabad, Mumbai and Chennai amongst others.

With the launch of the new Nissan Micra next month, Nissan will begin an exciting journey in India aiming to provide Indian customers with a full range of products and services. Nissan Micra Diesel in India Coming in December 2010


Nissan Motor India Private Ltd (NMIPL), following the successful commercial launch of the petrol variant of its first ‘Made-in-India compact hatchback –Nissan Micra announced that the diesel variant of Micra will hit Indian roads in December 2010. The Nationwide sales for the Diesel-powered Micra would commence from December 10, 2010. The announcement was made by Kiminobu Tokuyama, M.D. and CEO, NMIPL, Dinesh Jain –CEO, Hover Automotive India Pvt Ltd (HAI) –the strategic alliance partner for Nissan in India, accompanied by other senior officials of Nissan and HAI.

Nissan Micra Diesel is a smart, global hatchback with an affable appearance and engineered for easy handling and sprightly performance, while realizing class-competitive fuel efficiency. The Diesel-powered Micra comes with fuel economy of 23.08 kmpl (as approved by ARAI), making it the best in its class. Positioned in the B+ car segment, the Micra Diesel is powered with the popular 1.5litre Common Rail Direct Injection K9K Diesel Engine, which is mounted for the very first time in India on Nissan's versatile ‘V' platform.

The 8-valves, 4-cylinder Diesel-powered Micra generates Power rated at 47Kw (64PS) @ 4000 rpm, while torque output is 160Nm @ 2000 rpm. The Nissan Micra Diesel comes with a 5-speed manual gearbox. The wide gear coverage enables the 1.5-litre engine to achieve brisk acceleration in city driving conditions. The engine is refined and very silent, thus well adapted for Indian conditions.

Starting November 7, 2010, the Nissan dealerships across the country have already commenced the bookings for the Diesel powered Micra.
