Honda Brio, Amaze, CR-V recalled in India

Honda is carrying out a recall for the replacement of the driver side airbag inflator of 1,040 units of Honda Brio, 1,235 units of Honda Amaze and 63 units of Honda CR-V.

 These vehicles have been manufactured between September 2011 and July 2014, and are being recalled as part of Honda’s global recall regarding a possible incorrect assembly of the baffle plate in the inflator.

The Hero HX250R sportsbike has been showcased at the AIMExpo in Orlando, USA by the Indian two-wheeler giant’s subsidiary and technical partner Erik Buell Racing (EBR).

While the fully faired motorcycle will wear the crown of the flagship model of Hero Motocorp in India when it launches in the coming months, it would be the entry-level model by EBR when it’s eventually imported to the US. However, the branding strategy in the international markets is unclear as of now.

Hyundai Santro & Chevrolet Spark to end in India

Hyundai Motor India will stop making the Santro in the last week of November, thus bringing to an end, production of the car that launched Hyundai in India. Since its introduction in October 1998, the company has sold over 1.36 million units of the Santro in India, and exported 535,000 units.

Production of the car will be stopped as the company believes the product is nearing the end of its lifecycle, reads the report. Also, with the stoppage of production, it gives Hyundai additional capacity in its plant for future models, or to increase production of hot-selling Grand, Xcent or Elite.

Maruti Suzuki Ciaz (YL1) Sedan Car Tipped For 2014 launch

Maruti Suzuki showcased the Ciaz concept sedan at the 2014 Indian Auto Expo. The car began life as the Suzuki AuthenticS concept in China, hitting Indian shores as the Ciaz concept. The Ciaz, code-named the YL1, has already been spotted testing in India.

2014 launch time frame for Maruti Suzuki’s latest C-Segment sedan. Interestingly, the report also claims that the Ciaz will be slotted above the SX4 in terms of price and positioning. This claim does belie the initial details emerging about the Ciaz though.
