The new Jaguar XJ will come equipped with HD Radio, one of a growing list of models to get the stereo system choice.
The feature is popular because it offers lots of channels like satellite without a subscription fee. Bit by bit, iBiquity, the developer of HD Radio Technology for AM and FM, has been picking off mostly luxury-car makers.
It says besides Jag, its list of automakers offering factory-installed HD Radio either standard or as an option now includes BMW, Hyundai, Mercedes and Volvo. It also includes a couple of youth-oriented brands which are bought by customers who demand really good sound systems, BMW's Mini and Toyota's Scion.
In addition to the new XJ, the Jaguar XKR sports car and XFR sports sedan will also have HD Radio, just like the XK and XF, which have it now.
“Jaguar’s enthusiasm and continued support for HD Radio broadcasts emphasizes the great value proposition associated with the technology," said Paul Faletti, Jag's vice president of marketing in the U.S.
