Honda to display CR-Z concept hybrid car at 2010Auto Expo

Japanese automaker, Honda Motor Company, which will hold the world premiere of the concept model of a new small car, has announced that it will also be exhibiting the CR-Z Concept 2009, a concept model for a new hybrid model, which was unveiled for the first time at the Tokyo Motor Show in October this year.

"At Honda, we believe in constant innovation to offer advanced technology that only makes our cars fun to drive but also addresses the ever increasing concern about the environment," HSCI Director (Sales & Marketing) Tatsuya Natsume said, adding the displays would focus on bringing alive the spirit of dynamism.

It is to be mentioned that the Honda CR-Z (Compact Renaissance Zero) is a compact hybrid automobile marketed by Honda as ‘the world’s first hybrid sports car. The CR-Z combines a hybrid gasoline-electric powertrain with traditional sports car elements. It was developed by Honda as a concept vehicle first introduced by Honda CEO Takeo Fukui on October 23, 2007 at the 2007 Tokyo Auto Show. At the show, Fukui stated that a production model is in the works and that the car is intended to be sporty, incredibly efficient and inexpensive. The CR-Z was first shown in America at the 2008 Detroit NAIAS (North American International Auto Show).

Designed to be futuristic and dynamic, the CR-Z combines powerful performance in a compact form with a futuristic image. For its frontal view, an over-sized grill with a high-performance look is offset by openings on each side that lighten the overall feel. In the rear, tube-shaped rear combination lamps create a powerful presence.
