BMW M3 GTS

Nothing is more exciting than a new version of the M3. A new M3 is exactly what BMW is giving us in the form of their new BMW M3 GTS. Originally it had been speculated that the new M3 would be dubbed the CSL, GT or GT4 Street. BMW has just released official information and photos for their new machine.
The orange paint job is reminiscent of racing BMWs of the past. The M3 GTS weighs in at 3,285 lbs, which is 419 lbs less than the stock M3 coupe’s curb weight of 3,704 lbs. The stock M3’s rear glass window has been replaced with Macrolon rear screen to save weight. The 19-inch alloy wheels are very racy and look at home housed under the bulging fender flares. In addition, the new wheels house six piston calipers up front and four piston calipers in the rear. The rubber in the front is 225/35 and 285/30 in the rear. The car’s chassis rides on yellow springs and fully adjustable suspension. There is a huge rear wing and front splitter that is hard to miss. The interior of M3 GTS is bare bones, gone are the A/C and Nav replaced with a roll cage, racing seats, emergency shut-off and six-point racing harness.

The first deliveries are scheduled for next May in Germany for 115 Euros about $170k US. Power for the new M3 GTS is expected in the neighborhood of 450 hp from a 4.4 liter V8 mated to a 7-speed dual-clutch gearbox.
