Bajaj small car would give 30 kms per liter - Management

Rumors in the market last week claimed that the low cost car being developed by Bajaj has been delayed by an year as the management is not happy with what they have accomplished till now.

Latest reports now claim that the company is aiming for this car to deliver 30 kilometers to a liter of fuel.

Incidentally, this is around the same fuel efficiency most high end bikes from the company deliver in the real world…

This car is expected to be manufactured at the company’s new plant in Chakan near Pune.

Bajaj is aiming to price this car at around Rs. 1.5 lakhs which would put it in direct competition with Tata Nano which is coming out later this month.

Bajaj is also aiming to have both petrol and diesel variants of this car just like Tata Motors.

A company source said: “Bajaj is proceeding as before to implement this project and any financial or other constraints that Renault-Nissan may have will have no bearing on the ability of Bajaj to implement this project.
