BOLOGNA, Italy,(Reuters) - Alfa Romeo, Fiat's (FIA.MI: Quote, Profile, Research, Stock Buzz) sports car brand, is going ahead next year with the launch of the successor to its 147 sedan, Alfa Romeo Chief Executive Luca De Meo said on Wednesday.
The launch will take place despite Fiat temporarily halting production because of a dramatic cut in demand caused by the financial crisis.
"The 149 is confirmed for the fourth quarter (of 2009)," De Meo told reporters at the Bologna Motor Show.
Some car makers have delayed the development or launch of some products because of the crisis
