The most awaited MUV is finally set to vroom on the Indian roads. The all new Maruti Suzuki Ertiga makes its foray into the Indian auto world. The stylishly designed Ertiga will be available in both the petrol and the diesel variants. The Petrol version is powered by a new K-series cc VVT engine and the diesel variant will come with the 1248 cc DDis VGT engine.
The MUV space is dominated by Mahindra & Mahindra and Toyota. However, in the recent years, there have been other brands that have made their presence felt in that space. Maruti`s launch is likely to start a new trend. India's most popular family car maker has entered into the MUV space and how.
The Ertiga is a seven seat utility vehicle that offers three rows of seats which may be adjusted in many ways. The Ertiga will be offered with a 1.4 Litre petrol engine developing 95bhp. The 1.3 litre diesel will offer 90 bhp something similar and to the tune of the SX4.
It is interesting to note that the MUV segment has grown by ~20% in the past three years. The MUVs currently account for 10% of the Indian automobile industry and this is a segment that is raring to go. Ertiga will first be launched in India followed by other markets in South East Asia.
